Biography

Sun Jing, PhD in Ophthalmology, is an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Ophthalmology at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. She was selected as one of the Sixth Batch of Outstanding Young Backbone Talents of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital and received the Best Surgical Video Award at the 5th International ITEDS in 2019. She graduated successively from several prestigious medical institutions in China: China Medical University, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She studied under Professor Fan Xianqun, Head of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Disease Group of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society. Her main clinical focus includes oculoplastic surgery (eyelid plastic surgery), eyelid tumors, orbital diseases, and thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy, and she has accumulated extensive clinical experience. She has published 12 SCI-indexed papers in international professional academic journals. As principal investigator, she has received one project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China; as a key member of the research team, she has participated in one major international cooperation project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has won one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, one First Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, and one First Prize for Academic Achievements of Higher Education Institutions from the Ministry of Education. The discipline to which she belongs is a National Key Clinical Specialty, a Shanghai Key Discipline, and a Shanghai “top priority” Medical Key Discipline.
